Art of „Yellow and Green“

The artist Bärbel Kaufmann took my composition "Yellow and Green" together with the extraordinary Harrison guitar as the thematical basis to compose a painting reflecting both. Size 70 x 100 cm, time of production May 2016.

Different materials and painting techniques were applied, a.o. asphalt graphite as a basis, various kinds of filler and gels for the three-dimensional presentation, marble powder later breaking up, acrylic paints, wipe technique, rust and patina finish which only give away the result after drying, and at last shellac ink for the brilliance and shiny effects.

Daniel Bonrath, 24 years old, design student at Fachhochschule Münster and free-lance communication designer war inspired by the composition Yellow & Green. This abstract painting (size 100 x 100 cm) was created in summer 2016.

According to the song title only yellow and green acrylic paint was used. It was applied by palette knife onto the canvas. In a next step the work was completely watered to the effect that the colours of this new surface were blurred and washed out. Then in parts, with a second layer of paint the surface was covered, supplemented and/or deformed. Finally some more details were applied with pastel chalks which now present a certain contrast to the dynamics created by the watering.
